Sterile plates are gamma-irradiated and treated plates are gamma-irradiated and tissue-culture treated, both having the option to be individually packed with lids. Microplates are available in polystyrene or polypropylene for higher temperature resistance. Each well has a distinct alpha-numeric well designations. Well capacity is dependant on the bottom format. Lids are sold separately in non-sterile and treated.
